Ok, so I'm excited about runes and couldn't wait to see what they were all about. One of the first ones I drew was the Frost Armor rune, so naturally I immediately put it on the Frost Rager. But here's where it starts to get confusing. If I look at My Runes inventory, the Frost Armor rune is still there, but I know I only drew one copy which is on my Frost Rager. Since it was still showing with no indication that it's in use, I tried to put it on another creature with the Frost Armor skill. However, when I bring the second card up, the Frost Armor rune is not shown as one of my choices on the right side.
So, here's my question/confusion. Since the rune is still in the My Rune inventory, does that means that we can/should switch it from one creature to another as we do battle (assuming we don't have a duplicate rune for that skill)? From what I can see there is no further cost once you've obtained the rune, when you place it on a creature. I expected that once the rune was placed, it would disappear from the inventory and become a permanent part of the creature, but since it still shows in the inventory is this a glitch or is there a reason for it (like being able to place the rune on a different creature). It seems like there should at least be some indication that the rune is already in use, otherwise it's going to be really hard to keep track of what ones are actually available for placement or sacrifice. I haven't tried removing any runes from cards yet, to see if you can do that.
Also, someone mentioned something about using the 'generic' runes if you didn't have all of the skill runes for a creature. So far, I've only been placing the specific skill runes. I'm 'assuming' that when I obtain a previously missing skill specific rune for that creature that I can go back and add it. If we can switch out runes, and add and delete them without penalty, should we be putting the 'generic' runes on creatures that we don't have skill specific runes for until we do obtain the specific ones? Or am I just totally lost on this whole thing? It certainly wouldn't be the first time I've completely failed to grasp a concept in this game...lol. Help, please!

Hey, so my guess is that you didn't attach the rune. Let's just call it Imbueing for now since I don't know the real term.
You select rune(s) and then under the interface you will see a Hammer and Red Gem icon. When you press that, the runes actually appear to fit down into the socket and are "Imbued". Imbued runes can still be upgraded, but will be removed from the inventory. Removing a Rune that is imbued costs Gold and when you click to remove it, it will ask you if you're willing to spend the money to remove it from the card. If the money and effort is no issue, then yes moving runes back and forth makes sense, but it wont be for free.

Hi, SoaponaRope,
Yes, I did press the Hammer button down when I did the 'imbueing". It seemed like nothing happened, so I immediately went to check the Frost Rager card in my deck. The Frost Armor and Restoration runes are on it in color (not like her third skill, 'Elven Salve 6', where the rune is greyed out since I don't have it yet) . When I bring the card up in the "Equip Rune" screen, it shows the runes on the left screen in their sockets, and on the right where the available runes for the card are shown, they are there with a check mark under them, but they are still listed in my inventory.
PS: Actually I have a lot of the Restoration runes (not sure how many), so I can't say positively that one is still in inventory, but I know that I only had one Frost Armor rune, that I put it on my Lvl 10 Frost Rager, and that it is still in inventory, and I can't put it on any other card. I also have only one Maji Shield rune, which I have imbued to Swordmaster, and it is also still in inventory.

Interesting. So for me, yes they are still in the inventory of that creature since they are attached, but if I go to another creature they no longer appear. With IGG it could always just be a glitch. I make sure to completely close the game (open the applications and x them out or Force Stop) a few times a day because stuff like this always seems to happen...

Before you select a creature you have a big list of all your runes whether attached or not. Makes it hard to remember if you used em or not so have to go find the critter that uses them! That is the issue the OP is is having. I commented on their Facebook Friday thing about this issue. Let us filter by equipped or not..

I'm was talking about the attached runes showing up in the main "My Runes" inventory. Yes that is what I described. It shows every rune you own but you can't filter by attached or not. And I use the generic violence rune on swordmaster since I probably won't ever get a sweeping blow rune! I have the other two skill specific for her though.

tl;dr The rune UI is a complete train-wreck and needs a major overhaul.

I guess for now we will have to keep our own accounting of what runes we have, and which ones are attached. It's very frustrating not to be able to know this within the game. When I get a new rune, I have been using the "Creature Skills" page on the wikia, to see which creatures I have (if any), which have the skill that the rune goes to, I but it seems like there should be an easier way to do that as well. It's a huge headache, for sure.

I have a melded swordmaster with battleblow and when I went to put the rune with that it doesn't show up? Any ideas?

try clicking the rune in the runes section (the one you want to equip) if on the bottom right there is a button called 'remove rune' that means it is already on another creature (one rune can only be equiped to one creature at any given time)

Didn't think I had that epuiped on something else. Thank you
