I beat both 6-8 and 6-9 with the following deck ...
Lvl 47 Hydra - w Neander Might III, Initial Rage III, Sorcery Rune IV, and Faen Vigor I for runes.
Lvl 10 Ash Beast - w Violence Rune I, Vitality Rune II, and Protean Rune I for runes.
Lvl 10 Neander Giant - w Protean Rune III, Violence Rune II, and Anger Rune I for runes.
Lvl 10 Flame Brave - w. Protean Rune I, Vitality Rune I, and violence Rne I for runes.
Lvl 10 Cave Dragon - w Vitality Rune I, Protean Rune I, and Violence Rune I for runes.
Lvl 10 Mammoth R... - w Protean Rune I, Vitality Rune I, and Violence Rune I for runes.
Lvl 10 Icy Huntress - w Ambush Rune II, Protean Rune I, and Violence Rune I for runes.
Lvl 10 Pit Priest - w Vitality Rune 1, Restoration Rune I, and Violence Rune I for runes.
Lvl 10 Quetzalcoatl - w Violence Rune II, Protean Rune I, and Vitality Rune II for runes.
Lvl 10 Bloodletter - w Protean Rune I for runes.
Lvl 6 Wild Efreet - w No Runes.
I think that Hydra's innate abilities plus the runes I threw on him boosted the abilities of my group, and allowed them to
get the job done. Hydra has 2x the Hit Points than the hero I was using, and the configuration I have set up allows him to
boost both Neander and Faen group members.
In terms of actual play strategy, I try to get my 5-stars out in front of my Flame Brave, so that she has a lot of time to
do her area effect damage. Combine this with the fact that Hydra also has an area effect effect ability, and this can be a major
advantage. Some of the other group members also have attacks that do damage to more than one target.
Of course, there are areas to improve. The #10 slot is basically there to follow the Current Cost, and keep my group up to date,
but until I level, I will boost him up with levels and runes and such, just to make him pull his weight. As you can see, I have
a lot of Lvl 1 runes attached to my group. I would like to replace those with some Lvl IIs, when I can.
I hope this gives some people some advice on how to beat these rather hard levels. I was stuck on Level 6-8 for a long while,
until I did some looking, and discovered Hydra. I beat Lvl 6-8 in my first run with him, and then immediately beat Lvl 6-9,
which I knew I had beaten once Dahlia went down.
So, I hope my experience can help some people.
