Hey there! Quick note, sorry for the massive wall of text to come. If your not in the mood, just take a peak at the "Resting Deck here and Now".So I'm going to assume for this deck you're asking about a static, defensive arena deck for you to leave on while you're not playing. Remember that decks for Explorer's gate, Gauntlet, and even Offensive Arenas are going to be much better if you custom-craft them for each fight. Since you know what you're going up against and can counter certain cards, hero abilities, etc. you gain a huge upper hand by tailoring your decks for these fights. Before I start, I also wanted to say that you may still find some use for Deathmort, considering he still has access to some great 4-star Mortii talents. His summon is the least faction-friendly of all the Summoner heroes, but it still benefits greatly from Death March / Unholy Pact. It may make enough sense to build a deck for him at this time as well as the Wight. Once that happens, it would be intelligent to take the two in different directions to try to cover the widest range of encounters that you'll run into in the game. It's also worth noting that the Puppet that Deathmort summons will count as a Mortii creature, affecting deck-building in order to trigger specific talents. General Tips
I'm sure you've already read these all over the forum, but I figure I really need to list them out here because they are a huge deal and some of these will make a much bigger difference than just Wight. - Start farming your second Thalassa.
- Start Considering Melds for your x2 Recycle Creatures - don't meld onto a Thalassa, instead find a strong 4-star to meld onto. More info here.
- You may want to start farming Oracles and Horned Beasts to help with Guild Maps. Horned Beast also makes a great carrier for Recycle. These creatures take a long time to get which is why it's recommended that you start farming these earlier rather than waiting until they're actually needed.
- Start Considering Melds for your Balthazars' Disposals - you want fast creatures with protection and/or rebirth. Dullahan, Harbinger, Royal Dragon, Light Brave all good options. You'll need multiple copies of these cards, 5 or 6, and you'll want to wait until a x2 Meld Day which generally comes once or twice a month. Don't attempt these melds otherwise or you'll be losing precious copies of these rare cards.
- You'll want a 3-star Neander Hero with the Spiky Bits talent. I don't know if you have one and you just didn't mention it, but it's worth the grind unless you're already working towards a 4-star which is fine.
- Join an active Guild. They'll be happy to have you if you're generating some contribution for them, and you'll definitely make out well with Guild Credits as well as increased Gold, Glory and possibly Gems. I cannot stress enough that this is a very beneficial move to make and can really boost you quickly.
- If you're getting close to being ready to meld a creature, work towards evolving it now. Evolve it but don't waste money leveling it up to 15 unless the new 4th skill is great (it usually isn't). You'll need to save as much gold as you can for when melding comes around. Remember that melding when it's not x2 Meld Day is a waste of gold and duplicates.
Resting Deck Here and Now
- Deathmort (Aura, Cripple, Undying)
- Thalassa
- Gorgon
- Terror Dragon
- Cave Dragon
- Balthazar
- Balthazar
- Sword Master
- Flame Brave
- Flame Brave
- Paladin
Recommended Steps in Order (and Order of Importance)
- If you haven't, take the time to find a good Guild (There are many on the Boards)
- Start Farming your 2nd Thalassa
- Evolve x2 Light Brave
- Evolve x1 Griffi-Knight
- Start applying for Sentry Angel Bounties in Guild Maps and Evolve at least 1
- Start Farming Oracles and Horned Beast, Evolve a Horned Beast once you've got 2
- Make a serious effort to get as far as you can in Explorer's Gate so you can start running Maze 8+
- When available, start farming Naga Mistress, Graboids and Twins
Basically this is going to maximize your time right now - some things wont pay off right away but help lay the foundation for a great mid-game deck. Getting far in the Explorer's gate is a huge deal and opens up a lot of important options for you. For instance, Twins makes a good Recycle Carrier and they are farmable through exploration, so even if you're behind on your Horned Beast copies, you can double the rate at which a second option becomes available.
Sentry Angels make an amazing carrier for Fatigue off of your Cave Dragons. Later, you could meld Immunity 7 or 9 on one for an amazing tank, but I don't use this card very often - although it may help through some of the nastier Mortii decks in the explorer's gate. Everyone should own a Sacrifice 8 Graboid. Additional melded Stabthrough Graboids are always welcome too! Naga Mistress is an absolute rockstar for Faen Lockdown, with FA, Immunity or Frostbite all being superb options.
You need x4 Oracles to Guild Map. More helps - they stack HP buffs for eachother so the more the merrier. Whats even better is an Immunity 7 or 9, or Frost Armor to keep them alive through some of the heavy hitting maps.
Light Braves are great melds for Instakill (from Hellwolf), and decent melds for Disposal or Recycle. I wouldn't suggest putting 2 Recycles on 2 Light Braves - their Cloudburst can be a huge issue and you don't want all your Eggs in 1 Basket. You'll want either Swordmaster or Horned Beast for your second Recycle. Griffi-Knight gets Frost Armor to make an amazing tank - again with the Incinerate being exploitable but generally a safe bet when used in limited numbers.
What your Deck might look like in ~1 Month
- Wight (Death Curse 3, Aura, Cripple, Undying)
- Thalassa
- Thalassa
- Gorgon
- Cave Dragon
- Queen Temptress
- Balthazar
- Balthazar
- Light Brave (Instakill)
- Griffi-Knight (Frost Armor 5)
- Swordmaster
What your Deck might look like in 3 Months (with a little Luck!)
- Wight (Death Curse 6, Aura, Firestorm, Undying)
- Horned Beast (Recycle)
- Swordmaster (Recycle)
- Gorgon
- Dullahan (Disposal)
- Harbinger (Disposal)
- Light Brave (Instakill)
- Sentry Angel (Fatigue 8)
- Graboid (Sacrifice 8)
- Queen Temptress (Retreat) - this one might be a bit ambitious, but you'll need at least 1 more Mortii
- Griffi-Knight (Frost Armor)
Now, it's important to note that if you get any 5-star Creatures in the mean time, your plan might change. But the main message here is that you need to be thinking ahead if you want to climb to the top quickly. Many of these 4-star Melds mentioned will serve you very far into the game and will help skyrocket you up the Arena rankings the minute you get them.
Again, sorry for the huge wall of text. Hope it gets you thinking about where you're wanting to head with your deck(s) here and how you can make a plan that expects the worst and still ends up being kick-a**. This way, you can only be pleasantly surprised!
