So I'll have my second spider queen shortly and want to meld it to something that I can fairly easily obtain through either farming or guild maps. I've narrowed it down (I think) to Naga Mistress, Oracle, Panther Chief, or Sentry Angel.
I currently use lvl 6 Royal Guard as my primary hero (I think he's underrated) but I also have a lvl 7 Weight, lvl 3 Berserker, lvl 4 Devil Hunter and lvl 3 Dragon Rider.
Notable cards: Mythril Drone Great Mystic Phantom Leige (x2) Ash beast (with enough copies to meld something good on it like BB8 or Life Sap, probably do that next 2x event) Horned Beast (Recycle 1) Swordmaster (Recycle 1) Royal Dragon (Disposal) Oracle (x2) (FA3) Graboid (Sac 8)
Plus a bunch of others, both 4 & 5 star.
I plan to lvl up my Dragon Rider ASAP and use him as my primary once he hits lvl 5, but continue with a human centered deck. Any help/ideas would be welcome both for the Immunity 9 and my Ash Beast.

From the cards you mentioned I would drop Sentry Angel from the list. Although I can see him being a decent early-game tank, I9 Sentry Angel is a horrible card that does very little from mid-game onwards.
Attempting an I9 Phantom Liege is definitely worth a shot if you don't mind losing the second copy.
After that I'd rate you options Naga >= Panther Chief > Oracle. This very much depends on your deck composition and intended use though - I9 Naga is pretty terrible for Guild Maps these days while I9 Oracle is still pretty great there for example.

I'm not ready to risk a one time meld chance with my PL, and with two I can spread the wealth on tourney fights... It's too strong of a card on its own. Maybe when (if), I get more copies. Sentry Angel was an idea I got from reading blogs which suggested it as an option... With good logic behind the thought process, just not right for me. You seem to be leaning in the direction I was... Naga I9. It'll take a few months, but that is where I think I'll go.

Immunity 9 Naga is an awesome creature. Put a good Vitality rune on her, some All vigor and Faen Vigor hero runes and she will survive pretty long on the field. Go for that meld. I9 Panther Chief is also pretty good with Immunity. For Oracle I think I7 is more than enough and Sentry Angel is just a waste. Yes, he is almost immortal with Immunity but apart of that he does... nothing. Just a good tank.

Keep immunity 9 for 5☆ melds.. sooner or later they come I'm sure they will, but I want something that will help me in the meantime. I figure that by the time I have enough copies of a 5* I want to meld, using my I9 Naga as the apprentice won't be too painful a sacrifice to make.

Don't make my mistake - to keep my Spider Queens's Immunity 9 out of any deck for a long time. Meld that I9 to some 4*(As I said Naga is the best option). Later, if you want you could meld away it to some 5* when you collect enough coppies. But I still use my I9 Naga in my main deck and I don't plan dropping her any time soon Btw I9 Paladin is another awesome choice for that skill

I would say i9 Panther Chief. It's great in so many places and if way down the road you want the i9 back you aren't losing anything too valuable.

I vote for i9 Michael if you can farm one. Great card for end game too.

I would say i9 Panther Chief. It's great in so many places and if way down the road you want the i9 back you aren't losing anything too valuable. As I said, I'm getting my 2nd Spider Queen. My first is lvl 10, and since I had been focusing on other things, I happened to get enough to get a second. I figured I'd get a second and meld that I9 off first. I'll still have the second on the lvl 10 and may sacrifice her as well, just didn't want to waste all the upgrades when another was so quickly obtainable. That will be a thought in a month or two when I have enough copies of something else.

i9 is such a fantastic skill it's basically impossible to pin down 1 single best card. It really comes down to what you have. Don't think of i9 as limited to your Spider Queens also, get yourself in a decent guild and Abaddon becomes farmable.
You should of course think where you can afford to use i7 instead, however. Horned Beast is far quicker to farm than SQ or Abaddon. It's not as good, but very reasonable for cards such as Panther+Naga, which in my opinion simply aren't valuable enough to warrant i9. They're decent, but far from great. The only 4* I would make an exception for is Oracle, which is a timeless card. It still functions well in certain guild map decks, it's great for Grimoire, and it's a great utility card for all situations. Everyone should have at least 1 i9 Oracle and 2 FA Oracles to dip into.
As mentioned, Michael is a fantastic recipient. Pontiff makes a very solid tank. It's well worth your time to risk a Phantom meld, since you'll reach a point soon where vanilla Phantoms aren't that great anymore, but if you luck out with immunity- it's a fantastic card. Wait until you reach that point however.
Basically any card that has zero non-physical defences (i.e unbound, stoneskin, immunity) will benefit more from i9 than anything else. Immunity is probably the best meld for most 5* cards. Just pick whichever one you get copies of first. For your Ash Beast, I would strongly consider holding off until you can get Frost Blade- Battleblow isn't the worst meld, and FA is pretty good too, but FB10 is definitely the meld of choice.

It's funny you guys act like 5* melds will take months.. as soon as you have some spare copies via like coupons you can try lucky shots. If you really want to go for a 4* immunity meld Michael is the only good candidate.

Hello Sir, I'm a big fan of yours and your experience/insight of DH and I'd like your insight please. What would you put on Leo (who comes with Unbound) as a defensive skill? I9 or FA?

First, the only thing I would put on Leo is FA. His Roar skill is great if he is the far left card. It will only be effective for cards that will attack after him (so cards to his right). This means that to be able to use him he will need to be able to tank on the left.
Secondly, I would like to point out to the End-Game Users that some of the melds you aren't recommending are probably the same melds that you did at this stage and got you to where you are today. Yeah, it sucks to work on a meld for a month, only to then destroy it in 3 months time. But if that meld is the reason that I can get through a Map quicker or higher in Trials, or higher in Tournament, then it was better than waiting a few months for a better meld.
I also feel that any meld that can be farmed is much less destructive to destroy and meld down the road.
Final thought, by the time that someone is easily farming these 5*'s, they will probably be able to get a few Abaddon's as well as 2-3 Spider Queens. Is it really only going to be a month or two to get enough worthy 5*'s to meld 5-6 i9's that having it on a 4* is such a bad choice?
I will agree with doing the YOLO melds when a reasonable replacement is available or especially when you are not using the duplicate . Never know when you are going to get lucky. My Dullahan Disposal made a huge difference b/c I was able to get it back when I was low lvls; Glad I didn't wait since I still haven't seen another Dullahan!
