Hello ! I would like to build a magical deck. What do you recommend ? - Heroe suggestion & skill (I don't have a 5* star yet) ? I will equip it with a sorcery rune obviously, what else ?
- Creatures :
* Flame brave (meld incinerate 8) seems to be an obvious choice since fire rune makes it so efficient * I am also thinking about Naga Mistress (meld FA) * Just got a gemini from Alice's bond which is terrific * Sea wizard * I got a Harbinger and a Light Brave with recycle What else would you recommend ? What do you think about this type of deck according to your experience ? I guess it can be weak at high level due to immunity being present and it is also weak vs Spiky bits... Any advice is welcome !!! rhad

Just use Alchemist along with anything that triggers Immunity, Maji Shield, and Reflect (crits with Pyre, Tempest, Toxicity, Thor's Rage, etc). It's a really hard deck type to set up, but when done well, it can be pretty deadly.
Hopefully Gallows Dodger notices this thread, because he mains Alchemist, I think.

Thank you for your insight but Alchemist may be a long term goal. Any 4* star heroes/skills suggestion for short term ?

Devil Hunter is a pretty good 4* hero for magic decks.

I run a faen deck and been rank 1 with this deck and stay top 10 in my arena bracket with it. Pretty easy to make. Predator Hero Lv6 (Used Bowmaster before and worked pretty good) Frost Rager Melded x2 (Soul Swap 240) Treant Guide Melded (Block 200) Treant Elder Melded (Assassinate 210) Pegasus Lord Melded (Immunity 9) Mythril Drone Lv15 with Soul Swap Lv1 Horned Beast Melded (Recycle 1) Harbinger Melded (Recycle 1) Anathema Flame Brave Lv15 with Bloodrage Lv1 The Frost Rager make pretty good tanks and buff other faens health. Plus with soul swap, they stay alive alot longer and with soul swap rune, they just keep getting stronger. They can tank in the front or even when coming from the back, they will still buff health, reduce enemies attack, and do damage to creatures in the front line with soul swap. Pegasus Lord with Immunity helps me alot. If my whole deck gets seal/crowd controlled, I can count on Pegasus to protect them with Cloudburst most of the time. I used to run Pegasus Lord without Immunity and I always got destroyed by morti sealed type of decks but not anymore now. I think having Harbinger is necessary for a magic damage deck cause it does get countered pretty hard by spiky bits but i have won games where my whole deck got killed by spiky bits but Harbinger rebirth luckily and I came back and won. If you have 2 horned beast, you wont be able to pull this off. The only problem ive had with this deck is running into another mythril drone or having mine clone from oceanus. I know a lot of people get incinerate on flame brave but I plan on getting Picking Off on him. A couple of good reasons, at least to me. I think flame braves abilities can pretty much wipe out the enemy field especially if you have the hero magic rune. If i run into mythril drone, at least hes not completely useless. Also, i will still be able to do damage to Immunity cards. If they do have a full field of cards and you get flame brave out, instead of 3 random targets from incinerate , it will take out the 2 lowest targets, this will especially be good if it chooses anything with immunity. This is my healing, soul swap, lower/steal enemy attack, magic damage type of deck haha. Even against spiky bits it can heal/survive well even when using soul swap. Its only when Pegasus Lord or Flame Brave come out that i get kind of screwed against spiky bits. Anyways, hope this helps you

I did a straight magic dmg deck for a long time. Devil Hunter (then later Judgement) with sorcery rune... evolved all my flame braves but didn't meld them. threw them all in the deck. All 4 of them. Also a FA naga and an i8 naga, a Phoenix, then obviously your 1-2 recyclers, and last card whatever. Drone or sea wizard if you have it, Fafnir or Mimir's not so bad.
it fares horribly against immunity decks, but believe it or not can still wipe out spiky bits / sharp armor decks, because of the immense amount of magic damage that it still does after spiky triggers 3 times and kills what's on your board. If there are 4 creatures on the board without immunity, Flame Brave can do up to 500 dmg to each (up to 750 to one), with Sorcery Rune at lvl 5. With 4 of them + nagas, etc, ..
It's not going to get you far in higher level explorer maps or arena, but situationally it will destroy decks with low immunity. Good to pair up against a tourney deck that has low immunity.

I like using Naga, sea wizard with sneak anathema for alchemist or judgement but since youre trying to use a 4* deck, I'd say go for pred.

I never really thought devil hunter was good. Plus predator seems to counter devil hunter. Also wight pretty much always uses curse on your grizzly bear, when it dies, you usually have another one again instantly. I tried using naga but never really liked it. I felt like its freezing proc rate was to low and died easily. I prefer using pegasus lord, i think it has better survivability alone and can help protect my creatures with a lot more consistency especially with Cloudburst rune.

Long ago before the 5* heroes. I was using devil hunter...it was good...I top my arena using her... naga mistress x2 with immunity is good... that time no rQT yet... no nothing yet... the then meta was fa so devil hunter rocks... but things change so we adapt....without healing sac anathema or sac gabloid was lock down because hp drop below threshold... while naga slowly lock and chip it away....now he is collecting dust at level 10...hehe

Alchemist with good mix of Fatigue 8 or Delays and multiple AOE magic damage cards (blossoms, inc8 flame brave, arcane knight etc) works wonders. The mix is needed if the enemy has a drone. Works wonders, mine is soon lev 4 and it causes some major damage at times (killing 5-8 creatures in one round).

The problem is against immunity deck but not only... To my mind, these deck is really fun to see played but not very competitive...a simple Cancer SAC and it's lost

remember... attention with opponents with spiky bits or sharp armor
if you do not have a arcane knight (lol) i recommend judgment to survive this. also mythril is a problem too

For the longest time I was running a Wight magic deck it was something like this:
1 x Horned Beast with Recycle 1 1 x Harbinger with Recycle 1 1 x Bloodletter with Revive 7 x Bone Mage with Detonate 6
All the Bone Mages have more or less:
1 x lvl 7, Fire Rune III - 350 max dmg 1 x lvl 7, Detonate III - 28% chance to restore to 1 HP.
This deck worked out quite alright for a while but due to the (sort of) recent "fix" to the detonate rune the Bone Mages have become rather less effective.
A possible improvement for this deck could be transitioning it into more of a hero power magic deck and by that I mean that I could focus even more on the rage gain (which is already quite high). This could be done by switching the 7 detonate Bone Mages out with some injured 3 (from Nightmare) Bone Mages with lvl 5+ Injured II runes.
Things to note:
Spiky Bits and the like is almost never a problem due to it only lasting 3 rounds and as the Bone Mages all have rebirth the graveyard is almost always either empty or near empty. So it is only a problem if it catches all the recyclers and the reviver in one go. As the deck is rather heavily dependent on rebirth and recycles it would appear that an obvious weakness would be fighting a Paragon, but as most Paragons aren't melded with a highlevel immunity (yet) this really isn't as bad as it sounds. They mostly die when a few Bone Mages die at once, thus they don't lockdown the graveyard anymore and the Bone Mages are free to rebirth. Another seemingly obvious weakness is the Mythril Drone. This one seems like a bigger problem than it actually is. Killing it can be rather difficult and you need a hero ability like the Wights curse to do it, but while it is in play all it really does is stop the Bone Mages from casting Meteor which is by far their weakest ability. As soon as a Bone Mage dies it is released from the Mythril Drones Spellbinder, this allows them to trigger [D]Pyre 4 (which is 120 - 550 dmg with lvl 7 rune).
The two main weakness' of this deck is immunity crits (which is only a problem if there's a lot or if it's on essential crits) and removal. By removal I am referring to hero abilities such as Armageddons, Spirit Arbiters and Overlords (and Balrog for that matter). One way around the immunity weakness could be to use Alchemist. Beyond that I haven't really figured out a solution for the removal dilemma.
I hope this gave you some insight into an alternative way of doing a magic deck.

You need full lock down + good hitters.
If you go with faens, take predator with you if his bear is at least lvl 5, otherwise devil hunter.
In such case, try to get Sea Wizzard and Mythrill Drone, they'll help you a lot. But be aware againts oceanus as Mythrill Drone's cost is high and if he's cloned, you'll counter yourself. 2 Naga Mistress + 1/2 Flame Brave gives a good lock down and good magic damage. You can also use Phoenix. At least 3 hitters, let's say, FA Arcane Sage (highly recommended ONLY if melded, otherwise no), Sneak 8 Anathema, FB 10 Ash Beast, Sea Wizzard, etc. The rest in support, FA5/i7 Henrietta, Rec1 Horned Beast and Light Brave, maybe FA treant elder.
A deck like this is somewhat cheap and is really strong. The main weakness is Mythrill Drone and spiky bits depending on you luck (if spiky bits don't kill your recyclers, you'll almost surely win depending on the creatures your opponent has)

If you already have Judgement or are going for him in the future, once he's at lvl 3 or so he *usually* ends up healing more damage from spiky bits than you end up taking damage... quite ridiculous actually. Not a good reason to go for Judgement alone, but if you already are anyway *shrug*.
