Hi all, first post so be nice!
I've been playing DH just over a month, pure f2p currently level 46, currently at map 7-7, about 1500 rank in my arena and level 45 on trials. I'm holding back on building too much deck power now whilst I farm for some good melds. I've got a block 7 Frost Rager and at the next event I'll be able to complete 4 x Bless 7 Frost Ragers, 1 x Frost Armour 5 Panther Chief and 1 x Immunity 9 Sentry Angel. This should let me get some much improved gains from Guild Maps (approx half way to Mythril Drone from energy mining). I'm trying to put together a cheapish guild map deck, the bless Ragers should be enough to keep my heroes alive and the Panther Chief should be self-sustaining through lifesap which will hopefully be enough for me to get towards 100K+ damage and make some nice gold gains whilst I farm for more Oracle shards. I know I'll have problems with Bullseye/Disposal/Retreat but as these skills are rare I want a simple general deck to get me started and hopefully pull in 1mil+ gold per day.
Would it be beneficial for me to meld Curse on to a Frost Rager or Blood Warlock? I should be able to stop a hero from triggering their skill with a voodoo rune equipped or does the rage drain hit before my creature attacks (raising the rage and rendering the rune pretty much useless)? I don't know how else I can keep enemy hero rage down in a guild map (QT is a long way away for me yet)
On the subject of Runes - pretty much all of my glory from raids goes to runes, I've got some decent runes (including sacrifice, hero vigor 4, sorcery 4) most are around level 5. I really like the look of the Consecrate/Miasma/Ravage/Bane runes combined with Block for dealing with those pesky bullseye crits on guild maps, but the descriptions are inconsistent, can anyone tell me if they reduce opposing faction damage by 5-50 or by 5-50% as obviously this will have a big effect on my strategy?!
I'm also hoping to keep my deck power low so I can complete the gauntlet each day. I'm currently completing it in about 3 days and have found since I've been growing more cards outside my main deck that it's been a lot easier (Troll Scouts and Dark Assassins have in particular been useful for 1-shotting weakened decks)
Is it beneficial for me to keep my power low so that I can rush through gauntlet using 5 good 4* melded cards a day, whilst keeping a lower rank in the Arena or would it be better to focus on Arena/Tournament decks and Trials?
In terms of heroes I've got Hydra, Dragon Rider level 2 and am just about to finish Wight, Balrog and Predator. Should I focus on levelling my heroes one at a time or focus on them all together? I've been able to farm them alongside each other so far with my stored tokens/credits but am finding that I'm running low on some days. Are there certain skills I should be prioritising (e.g. undying/ice shell/spiky bits) rather than spending all of my glory on runes?
Finally on to crits, I have:
5*
Thalassa x 2
Balthazar x 1 (level 10)
Phantom Liege x 1 (level 10)
4* - many, notably:
Sentry Angel x 7 (1 evolved, not yet melded)
Panther Chief x 4
Swordmaster x 3 (1 level 10)
Royal Dragon x 2
Harbinger x 2 (guaranteed one extra when I unlock map 6-10)
Horned Beast x 2 (1 level 10)
Demonic Templar (thank you, Gauntlet!)
Centaur Chief x 2 (both level 10, I read a lot about map 8-11!)
Hellwolf x 1 (level 10)
I'm only really looking at melding crits that I can guarantee I can farm in order to take the luck factor out of the game as much as possible. I think I've been quite lucky to get some of my cars for f2p, when I finish my Recycle HB it should really catapult me up the Arena ranks.
