Hello, There is a topic on some basics here: deckheroes.freeforums.net/thread/6024/research-on-smelt-systemhowever it does not talk about how the process actually works and what the skills actually do. I will try to provide as much information as possible. Please keep in mind. This is not a f2p feature. You will not get anywhere soon without spending gems. The info I'll provide is based on spending around 10k gems and I haven't managed to craft orangle level 5 gear(partially due to lack of knowledge). Skills: Critical rate - chance do deal double damage Skill resist - reduces skill damage by the % Skill potency - increases the damage from skills. I haven't tested yet if this only works on magic skills Evasion - I would like to believe that this is the equivalent of dodge, but I have tested for multiple games with a 19% chance and I'm yet to see a single dodge. Hit rate - haven't tested it yet, but I assume it negates dodge There is also a chance to get additional bonuses. I assume that the higher equipment grade the better the chance. For instance one of my items also provides a flat 150hp bonus to all my creatures which is quite amazing considering that it works on all decks unlike runes. You can also get a smaller % bonus of other equipment skills. For instance my boots give a 2% crit rate in addition to evasion. Now the most important part - the actual smithing. Depending on the materials used your chance to get a higher grade will increase. You will see the % displayed. I am sure you will not be surprised that even by using all orangle materials your chance of getting an orangle level 5 equipment is slim. To increase your chance you need to also sacrifice another equipment and the grade and level will affect the %. The best result I could get with all orangle materials and a level 4 orangle equipment as sacrifice is ~53% to craft an orangle level 5 equipment(which promptly failed). Overall I think this is an increadibly OP feature for people with gems. The additional bonuses really add up. Level 5 equipment go up to a 40% bonus and considering that other equipment can get the same bonuses as well you could probably get over 50%.

I can only imagine the Equipment is terribly Gem-Burning System. I spent around 5k gems for testing and only get basic equipment and nothing surprise.
In order to get an OP equipment, you can burn as much as Several hundred millions of Gems. Remember the fact, 1 Euro = 100 gems Even the lvl 1 material cost you 10 gems in average. Lvl5 material = 256 unit of Lvl1 material = 2560 gems
For crafting a Lvl5 equipment (Not 100% successful), you required to burn 5 units of Lvl5 material = 12300 gems (not even counting the additonal equipment and the Spark to increase the chance)

I've received orangle materials several times and a lot of blue/purple. So the price is at 5 gems tops. Several hundred millions is sort of funny as that's just not the case, but I would probably say that it will cost you somewhere around 12-15k gems to craft an orangle level 5 equipment if you do everything correctly. Getting the first one will probably cost more as you will be getting a bunch of materials you don't need for that particular gear. If you have those kind of gems(I have mine from alice bond) this is a 1000% amazing investment. It's a huge boost to your deck without using any slots.

I'll try to keep it up to date. I will probably only be able to spend additional gems after the next Alice Bond as I'm at a critically low level at the moment.

Can you explain: 1. How to classify an equipment? (lvl, color, set/normal, ...) 2. What equipment stats consist of?

Can you explain: 1. How to classify an equipment? (lvl, color, set/normal, ...) 2. What equipment stats consist of? I can't really comment on the set items as nobody has access to the materials, but I assume they are the same, but the % threshhold is higher(50% instead of 40%). Not sure what kind of answer you'd like for the classification , but I can say that there are 5 levels of equipment as you know and each of them has 5 colors. Each level has it's own max % that it can provide. So an level 4 orangle can give you 10-20% while level 5 orangle is 20-40%. The equipment stats have 1 static element which is written on the equipment itself. This is evasion for boots, skill potency for belts etc. Everything else is random and I haven't crafted enough stuff to have an idea of what different things can be generated on the equipment.

I think i was lucky tbh, heard others failed 4+times going for orange lv5s. I agree it can be expensive especially for f2p players but it certainly doesnt cost hundreds of millions worth of gems.

Yes, some of the whales got Dodge 10 and Immunity 10 quickly, but we finally starting to see many of the F2P getting high level of skills on a few cards.
This equipment will be the same way. Many whales will pay to have Lv5 Gold equipment right off the bat. However, over time, many F2P will start to get Lv3+ Gold equipment with Bonus Skills. This system is another way for IGG to try and get their player base thinking long term... Just like the Skills, just like Alice Bond...

You have a point, but it's not exactly true. Even if you are F2P it is very realistic to get at least 2 grimoir decks that you can clear at level 5 and clear the remaining at 3-4. This is a steady supply of maps and with some luck you can draw pretty good stuff. I managed to level a number of things(for instance HB Mass Heal 10) without spending gems on the feature. However there is a much harder cap on equipment as you produce at a fixed rate and you can easily calculate how long it will take to get your materials. So yes, you can make equipment as F2P, but the time required is so immense that you won't get anywhere any time soon.

True, but I see the greatest potential in the new equipment being the Bonus Skills and getting those. For those, you just need to be lucky and get some Sparks over time from the Lucky Flip. To me, it just doesn't look like it matters as much to have Unholy Rites on a Lv1 Green Sword or a Lv5 Gold Sword. The additional % for critical rate could be nice, but for F2P there are always tradeoffs.
Plus with some gems each day, the cost drops considerably and patience can help it go down as well. With more F2P getting close to perpetual AB gem income, using 10-25 gems per day is not going to be much.

Fyi to all. You dont need lvl4 orange to make lvl5. Use lvl3, it has the same success rate and is much easier to craft.

Lvl3 only requires 2 orange mats for a good chance at orange lvl3 orange equipment.
