In about a week or so I will have the 5-star heroes: Oceanus, Warlock and Captivator. They all are on 90+ shards. Currently I only have Hydra.
Which Hero is best to develop first?
My creatures are decent. I don't have to rely entirely on the Hero.

warlock is does its job just as well at level 1 as it does level 5, the other 2 require some leveling (oceanus i think should be level 4 to get it rolling)

Work on the mines will give better heroes than tourney malls... so my point is keep some glory for the ores heroes...like Vs or SA... lucidity has destroyed Oceanus and captivator prospects

I totally forgot about this threat, it is nice to review it after a year Captivator - hardly used since lucidity spoils it all Oceanus - Although lucidity spoils this one too, I used it very long in Tournament. The trick is to go for a long game (much heal/bless) to overcome lucidity. Warlock - So underestimated! I use him every day in Gauntlet. Most games I win without any losses (as long as I play the first rounds on manual). He is good, because Prayer also does some sort of Divine Shield and can counter Requiem. The best talents for Warlock would be Protection, War Hungry and something that suits your deck. Before the nerf I would say Berserk, but that probably doesn't work with War Hungry anymore.

Captivator for sure but need lvling and im not sure whther his skill ia.disabled by licidity, but anyway hes rly powerfull even in lvl 1 My crits usually survive a round of crazed sorrow easily, because the damage is not very high. Dodge, rampart and FA still work. Really, she is a bit disappointing even on higher levels. By now my Captivator is level 6 with Divine Shield and Freezing Dance, but I wouldn't dare to using her in Tournament.

She takes so damn long to level, if she appeared as often as the rest she might be more usable earlier. I still use her as I've had her a while and I like her. She works well against some big damage targets like taurus, outside lucidity she provides decent lockdown - it can be the thing that gets you board control. Still warlock is the best option to counter VS, although they may fix the bug someday. Without it he would still be good, but the bug makes him a more powerful counter. His skill is only defensive, so it does lack a bit when facing decks that have nothing to purge. I might like Oceanus better if he could clone Octavius, and I might like Octavius better if I had him!

Still warlock is the best option to counter VS, although they may fix the bug someday. what bug? There is no bug,if Warlock cast Prayer before VS cast Requiem he grant NO CONTROL effect on your cards that means when VS cast Requiem your cards will still continue normally to attack and use skills because they are not affected by control effect from Requiem until their hp drop low enough to proc. control from Requiem. In all other cases cards who get under Requiem immediately gets under control effect from Requiem but Warlock prevents that ONLY if Prayer is casted before Requiem.

Ok i think i understand: if requiem is first, prayer removes it entirely (the symbol and effect) and each card takes direct dmg (description of removing requiem). This is proper and no bug.
But if prayer is first then your cards are requiemed and show the symbol (still proper and no bug) but continue to function until the atk your own hero part kicks in.
So yes this is a bug. While requiemed they should get only 1 round of prayer protection before requiem takes control away again, but they actually get more.
Correct?
Actually a powerful bug then if you can keep your cards healed. A torment runed paragon could really be a problem for VS.

I was seeking this information through IGG and their answers were not as thorough as yours. I don't know how this note you wrote wound up in my unread Tapatalk posts but I sure do appreciate it grandfather :-)
