If they truly wanted to take luck out of the equation it would be the same decks face off 3 times. Instead its your best deck against their best deck with luck and then your subpar decks against their subpar decks with luck. I faced a guy with a deck that had a level 5 thor and all upgraded 5*s. His other 2 decks were normal. So I threw a garbage deck at his first and then 2 great decks and I won. No way all three combined could beat his first.

I think the way they made this tournament makes it very hard to defend against attackers. Basically the attacker only has to make 2 decks and gets to choose which of your 3 decks each of their decks gets to fight, so basically all you need to win is a counter build.

The current model is set up in the attacker's favour big time. I never lose on offense, but on defense it's another story.

Basically you need 2 really solid decks that can't get wiped by spiky bits to succeed on defense. Having more than a single caster in your deck can make it pretty easy for someone to run a crap Spiky bits deck against you. I wouldn't pretend to be an expert, but am sitting right around 30 in ranks, having been in the teens prior to the arrival of a bunch of WK into that ranking and this has worked pretty well for me. My Neander deck isn't very solid, but I place it 3rd so they have to go through my recycle/revive Mortii & Human decks that are solid and still have something left for my mismatched 3rd deck that has spiky bits as its main deterrent. For offence it has become very luck based now, since most people around me have Mystic as their only caster for all 3 decks (if it isn't already melded.. fml) so its just like arenas. I send my crap deck against their best deck and pray I get lucky with my main 2 decks and win some and lose some. Today I was 1/4 but yesterday I was 4/5 just maintaining my ranking, not climbing.

^^^Agreed.
Diversity is king. I like the idea of tournaments and how they really stretch out players's inventories. Lucks huge in this game in every area.

Probably would never have done that if tournaments didn't happen...

Even immunity9 can be cracked, and one good hit can change the entirety of a match, especially when rebirth and all you crowd control doesn't proc. lol.

If somebody has a deck with 2 or more "all creatures" magic attacks, like Pyre and Tempest, then I break out my Neanders.

Yeah it's a good option to have. I got to get busy! Prob have a captivator by the time I have a decent neander deck. Lol
