We have got a new hero. Cinder Spirit. It's only available in Momoya daily ranking which makes him the most expensive hero at the moment. His skill is: Inflicts blight on all on all enemy creatures. Successful basic attack reduce the Rage of enemy hero by 5 and deals direct damage equal to 50% of this creature's attack. Enemy hero does not gain any Rage from damage inflicted by this skill. Effects of blight last for 2 round and cannot be removed by prayer. It's very interesting. It seems we may have a hero that can take the lead from Druidess. I would love to know how his skill is scaling. Attachments:

The description is ambiguous and confusing. Attack of which creature? Yours or theirs? and which creatures attack does the 50% mean, yours or theirs?

I don't think this hero can overtake Druidess because you can counteract it with a high level Hero Vigor rune. Blight does not help with killing off the enemy creatures. Cinder Spirit is good, but not Druidess good.

And maybe the number off turns goes to. Lets guess a lvl 10: Could be 10 rage... could be 80%... could be 4/5 turns If so your creaturs could depleting enemy hero forever. And with hanzo and a weel timed aquarius as supper combo. It could be better then druidess but depends on how he levels and if his hero skill goes thru ward??

If 50% of modified attack... Then warhungry+berserk+bullseye+battleblow etc. Stab herokill again. I dont think so. First they have to have a succesfull basic attack. Then the hero damage is applied wich is not a basic attack. The 50% or more damage is direct damage.

we are all talking it hits the hero. from description it could be that the creature dmg itself with 50% of it attack and no attack on hero. druidess will stay on top. when ward is casted it will just block off the skill entierly, i guess. but so far he will be rly strong and also prayer cant remove it, i wonder if alice does....

Here's my guess how it works. Blight is casted on enemy creatures. This is Turn 1. Then enemy turn, this is Turn 2. Enemy creature make successful basic attack (no matter it is block by your creature or it attacks your hero), then enemy hero will lost 5 rage + 50% of enemy creature's attack. I just wonder about Sweeping Blow, would this be counted as 3 successful attacks. So after enemy creatures make their attacks, Blight wears off.
The skill says Prayer cannot remove Blight. But what about preventing? If Prayer is casted and then then next turn is Blight, can the Blight be avoided, or it will be successful?

I think the power of this hero depends on how the ability scales. If it lasts for 4 turns rather than two at some level, or if the attack damage scales like oceanus, up to 200%, that might be a strong play.

No, the description makes it clear it hits the hero. The description does not make it clear it hits the hero. What is stated is "successful basic attacks". I interpret it as this: 1. If the enemy creature is paralysed, frozen or whatever = no successful basic attack. 2. If enemy creature attacks, and misses my creature card = no successful basic attack. 3. if enemy creature attacks and hits my creature card = successful attack. 4. if enemy creature attacks and hit my hero = successful attack. 5. ... also, what is ambigous is when enemy creature attack is reduced to zero, and it attacks my creature or hero, would this be counted as a successful attack or not. So the effects trigger whether enemy creatures successfully attack my creatures or hero. This is all based on interpretations. Until and unless somebody actually has this hero and plays it, we can never be sure how IGG intended this skill to work.

Not that it only works if they hit your hero.

When I read this skill, the way I took it is kind of like killer queens "guilt". He inflicts all enemies with a debuff that lowers enemy hero rage as well as deals dmg to self when dealing a basic attack. This doesn't keep the creature from performing skills or dealing dmg. We have all seen kq in action. Same rules apply.

For me it just doesn't make much sense to let the enemy attack me in order to get direct damage. In this case you can't roll group tactics and should avoid using any creature with dodge. It would leave your deck very vulnerable.

This renders the skill useless when it procs. Also, I withdraw my statement about guild maps because of mantra.

If you're going to run Cinder Spirit, you should run a deck that doesn't rely heavily on Dodge, Demolution Beam Rune and Frost Blade. It's not like any of these are vital necessities for a strong deck.

Its successful basic attacks so using crits like ordi and octa against it is a good soln for people who can afford a deck with these kinds of crits
Against a mid game to early late game deck this skill will wreak havoc

There are some creatures I do not use in my defense decks, but do use in my attack decks. The same goes for heroes. This hero would be a great attack hero against decks where there aren't many non-basic attackers. Also, you seem to be implying that Ordinance lacks a Basic Attack. He has a Basic Attack.

I was saying that if you use any cards that keep them from dealing a basic attacks then you are working against him. I want to see you build a deck at the top end without aquarius and not miss her. There's no such thing as deck variance in this game. You can swap cards out by name but you still have to fill the same roles. 2 revive 3 rage manipulation Torment Recycle 3 heavy dmg dealers Mix and match anyone you want here but it's the same build.

Back to the topic....
If this hero works in the same principle like KQ then I would try to build a deck that is more offensive based and let to my deck to take some damage. If i use any defensive skill it would be rampart, block, or FA. Creatures with dodge are banned. For rage control: I don't see the reason to use Aquarius since the hero skill will deal with the rage manipulation and I try to believe that once his skill it's activated then it will keep the enemy hero rage down for two round which might be enough to obtain full rage again. So some QT should be enough
The hero talents would be Lucidity + Full alert
I definitely consider this new hero a top tier one. And interesting to see a new hero working in a different way.
I would like to see his skill at level 10. Any idea?

Aquarius is still important because you don't want to get unlucky and have them unleash their Hero Skill first, which can kill off enough of your creatures to lose you the game even if you do get off an endless repeat of your own hero skill out of it. Say you're facing Druidess and due to the luck of the draw, they managed to set off Storm Ward before you manage to set off Cinder Blight. One of their warded creatures is Paragon. Good luck with winning that. We're not 100% sure he's got Lucidity yet, but it's a good guess because most of the new heroes have lucidity, even Kentucky Friend Chicken. Leveling his skill probably levels up how much rage he leeches per successful basic attack, plus maybe extending the number of turns his Hero Skill lasts, but I wouldn't count on it. At level 4, KFC's Hero Skill still only lasts 2 turns (each level adds 100 direct damage done to all enemy creatures and 1 extra point of rage gained when KFC is hit). I'm guessing KFC's Hero Skill will either never lasts more than 2 turns or it will at ridiculously high levels (like levels 8-10 or something).

My biggest problem with this heros skill, apart from it hinging on basic attacks by the enemy creatures to work, is that, while rage loss is still anoyying, they would be effecting rage AFTER their hero would have already activated it's skill. Their attack phases all trail their hero skill activation so they would be trying to lower an empty rage bar.
If his skill inflicted hp reduction instead of direct dmg it would balance out by being able to still compete with druidess' wards. As it is now, it is extremely lackluster compared to other heroes and other forms of rage manipulation.
