Inorlive’s Gide to the Platinum Wheel Spin
In April 2018 IGG introduced the Platinum Wheel to the Lucky Spin.
IGG describes the event as follows:
- It’s our grand unveiling of the Platinum Wheel!
- After spinning the Wheel 10 times, there will be a chance to activate the Platinum Wheel.
- Once activated, the spin of the Platinum is Free. After this spin, the Platinum Wheel will return to the regular Wheel.
- So what’s different about the Platinum Wheel?
- As long as you choose not to reset the Platinum Wheel (you can always refresh the price pool with just 500 Gems!), the Platinum Wheel prize pool will remain the same until you have won all of the rewards in the prize pool. However, do note that the prize pool will reset after the event has ended.
How long does it last?
The event last several days. The first few time we saw the event it lasted 3 days, however on May 23-26th there was a 4 day version of the event.
Platinum Wheels offer the best rewards, Gold Wheels next, then Regular Wheels the most common rewards. Top Platinum Rewards include the Heroes Galerond’s Shade and Druidess.
How do you get a Platinum Wheel?
Most Lucky Spins are Regular Spins, however after every 10th Regular Spin, you activate a Platinum/Gold Spin. Each day the first time you active a Platinum/Gold Spin, you get a Platinum Spin, after that is random as to whether you get a Platinum Spin or Gold Spin. (Note: You get 50 Lucky Points on for every Regular Spin, however for the first 10 spins of the day, you get 100 Lucky Points)
How often do you get a Platinum Wheel?
You only get a Platinum/Gold Spin after 10 regular spins. It unknown how often you get Platinum, however from my small sample size, im going to guess about 10% of the time you get Platinum and 90% of the time you get Gold.
When you spin, do you have the same chance for each prize?
No, of course not, this is IGG. Like Lucky Flip, Lucky Spin does not give you equal chances for each prize. There are 12 tiles, and the lower value prized are much more frequently landed upon then the higher value prizes. It seems that tells of the same color are not equally likely, specifically the two tiles (Row 1, 2nd tile) and (Row 2, 1st tile) are the most unlikely tiles to land on, and hence typically have the highest value reward.
You get a 100 Lucky Point for the first 10 Regular Spins each day, after that each Regular Spin gets you 50 Lucky Points. Sometimes you land on a tile that also gives you Lucky Points. If you are spending a lot of gems, I have found that you get just over 1.2 Luck Points for each gem you spend. So if you spend 10,000 gems, you should expect to get just over 12,000 Lucky Points. Remember that if you are purchasing a Creature from the LP Mall, you can use up to 15 Omni Shards to finish the creature saving you valuable Lucky Points.
I didn’t keep formal track of how ofter you see Mega Jackpot in one of the tiles, however I would estimate that once every 10 spins you get the chance at a Mega Jackpot.
Every 10th spin is a special spin. Since each spin costs 100 gems, that means you get a special spin every 1000 gems. I had been told from guild mates that Platinum Wheels were about 1 in 10, meaning that I was prepared to spend on average 10,000 gems for each Platinum Spin. I also knew that unless I got lucky, I would not get the better rewards until the very end. Since there are 12 tiles total, I needed to be be prepared to get 12 Platinum spins. The event lasted 3 days, and since you are guaranteed that your first Special spin each day is Platinum, I would need to spend gems to get the other 9 Platinum tiles. If my guild mates were accurate, this meant I mentally needed to commit to spending 90K gems.
I waited until the Platinum Event and Total Spending Rewards Event occurred not the same day. At the time there had only been 3 day Platinum Events, had I know there were sometimes 4 day Platinum Events, I might have waited until. (Added comment: If Momoya is open you will get LOTS of tickets)
Total Spending Rewards for that day was spend 20,000 gems and get 10 Sparks & Rune Essence; spend 40,000 and get 20 Sparks & Spectral Three, spend 70,000 gems and get 50 Sparks & Demeter. Depending on luck, I figured I would roll to either 40k or 70k. After 10 spins, my next spin was the automatic Platinum wheel. It had my desired Druidess on the top row, however the other rewards were nothing special. The artifact (typically on the 3rd tile, top Row) was Dreamer’s which is nothing special, and the 5* creature in the 2nd row was something I didnt care about. I spent 500 gems to Reset the wheel, no Druidess, spend 500 gems again, no Druidess, again, again, finally after 8 spins and 4,000 gems I reset to a Platinum Wheel with Druidess, Cosmic Hare, and Glacial Pendant. I took my first Platinum Spin and got one of the lower rewards. It then took until my 9th Special Wheel to get Platinum again. Then on my 6th Special Wheel, then 12th, then I didn’t get Platinum until my 27th spin. Since each Special spin costs 1,000 gems, the means I had spent 54,000 gems. I decided to go until I had spend 70,000. I got Platinum on my 4th Special wheel and hit the 70,000 mark without another Platinum spin.
I ended day 1 of the Platinum event, having spent 70,200 gems and uncovering 6 of the 12 tiles. Total spending rewards gave me 80 sparks, a Rune Essence, Spectral Three, and Demeter. And a boatload of Lucky Points. I knew the Platinum event had 2 more days each one giving me Platinum for the first wheel, but I still needed to be prepared to spend gems to get the remaining 4 tiles. Of course the most desired prizes all remained unclaimed.
Day 2 was not a Total Rewards Spending day, so I simply spent 1000 gems to get me to the Platinum Special Wheel and stopped for the day. I was hoping that Day 3 would be a Total Spending Reward day.
Day 3 was not a Total Reward Spending day either, so no more sparks for me. I got my 1 guaranteed Platinum Spin and then started spinning for the 4 remaining Platinum Wheel I would need to get all prizes. The last 5 prizes on the wheel, in order of desirability were Druidess, Cosmic Hare, Glacial Pendant, 1000 Artificial Shards, Neander Vigor. I landed on the last 5 tiles in exactly the opposite order listed. Of course many players get lucky, but if you have my luck, you need to expect that you will get druidess and other desirable items last.
The last for tiles took 15 Special Wheels, then only 2 Special Wheels, then 25, then the final Platinum came on the 5th Special Wheel spin.
To Recap I got Platinum on my 9th, 6th, 12th, 27th, 4th, 15th, 2nd, 25th, and 5th Special wheels. I had guesstimated that you get Platinum about 10% of the time. While I was a bit higher, my sample size it way to small to provide a reliable number, but using 10% or slightly worse is a safe rough number.
Total gems spent were 70,200 on day 1, 1000 on day 2, and 48,100 on day 3 or a grand total of 119,300 gems!
Since Druidess was last, I got all 12 prizes. Plus the total spending reward prized. Lastly I collected about 172,00 Lucky Points or roughly 1.4 LP per gem spent. I also spun a few gold runes including Rebirth, Safeguard, and Sweeping Blow, along with a few 5* cards Lava Warm, Phantom Liege, and 1 or 2 more.
I consider myself to have been somewhat unlucky in that it cost me more then the 90K gems I had estimated to collect every prize, and it was the Druidess that was the last prize, however worse case is what you have to plan for.
That the end of my story. Druidess is not very powerful at level 1, so I need to do this all over again, or somehow get lucky and get another Druidess or at least a bunch of shards.
Above show the Druidess as the last tile.
Below shows my last 5 unclaimed tiles.
They were awarded in order form lowest value to highest.
You can all see how many LPs I got for the 44k gems I spent on the last day.
