Forum Rules (Updated)
Hey everyone!
Since the old Forum Rules thread is quite outdated, I felt as though it was time to update it. Please follow these rules at all times if you want to not have any problems with the forum staff
As Charles said in the original post, keep these things in mind:
Rule 1) Only post in English.
- As English is the dominant language on this forum, it is important to make sure that you only post in that language. Other languages in your Status, Signature, etc are fine (as long as they don't violate any of the other rules), but let's limit them to those places only. Also, keep in mind that English isn't everyone's native language. So if you see someone struggling to get their point across, help them out as much as possible.
Rule 2) No illegal activities.- This includes exploitation, DDOSing, DOXing, the attempted selling or buying of illegal merchandise, etc. This will result in an instant ban.
Rule 3) No spam.
- The rule speaks for itself. Anyone caught spamming this forum will immediately be banned, no questions asked. Spamming is anything from repeatedly posting new, irrelevant threads to posting multiple times in a row in a single thread, without adding anything meaningful to the conversation. Double or even triple posting in a thread is fine, but if you post four or more times in a row, try to think to yourself how you could've fit all of that in a single post.
Rule 4) No excessive language.
- Certain curse words have been left uncensored, because I'm nice (and because I like to use them myself, admittedly). That said, use them as sparingly as possible please.
Rule 5) No racism or hate speech.
- Anyone caught doing this will be immediately banned, no questions asked. Racism and hate speech are not tolerated on this forum, as we would like to keep our environment as friendly as possible. I'd also like to point out that "But I have free speech" and "It's just my opinion" aren't valid defenses for such posts.
Rule 6) No terrorism or propaganda.
- This will not be tolerated at all, and will result in an immediate ban. This includes anything posted in the Off Topic board. Again, "free speech" and "it's my opinion" aren't valid defenses.
Rule 7) No pr0nography.
- No one cares if you like boobs or not. Any pr0nographic pictures or links will result in an immediate ban.
Rule 8) No "witchhunting".
- Do not post any threads or posts specifically bashing or flaming a particular person. While the Steve witchhunt was pretty fun, it quickly got out of hand. So let's not have a repeat of it.
Rule 9) Don't be a "catalyst".
- Meaning, don't intentionally stir up an argument. If an argument does get out of hand and turns personal, people who stirred things up will be targeted first by staff.
Rule 10) No misleading or vague posts.
- Don't post any thread that is intentionally trying to troll or mislead others. Don't say anything as if it is fact when it is only speculation or an opinion. While unintentionally doing this may only result in a verbal warning, doing it on purpose will definitely lead to disciplinary action.
Rule 11) No ranting.
- We all have something in DH that we hate; however, please don't post any rants about it (constructive criticism, on the other hand, is perfectly fine). If you guys want, I will open a thread specifically for rants, where rule 4, 11, and 12 will not apply (Smite's subreddit opened one recently, and it's literally the funniest place on the planet).
Rule 12) No all caps posts or threads.
- Please keep your voices down.
Rule 13) Don't misuse the report feature.
- When you are about to report someone, think to yourself: "Is it really worth reporting?" False reports will result in disciplinary action.
Rule 14) Don't ask to become a staff member.
- Being a staff member on this forum is something that is earned, and asking for such a privilege isn't allowed. If you REALLY want to become one of us, be on your best behavior. We are always watching, and every time a new member is recruited, it is because existing staff have recognized that member's good behavior and activity.
Rule 15) Don't act like or impersonate a staff member.
- If you see someone breaking a rule, report them to the staff, instead of taking matters into your own hands. That being said, if someone breaks a minor rule (like if they rant or post in all caps), reminding them of said rule isn't a problem. Also, DO NOT try to impersonate a staff member. This will result in an immediate ban, no questions asked. Under no circumstances will any staff member ever ask you for any of the following information:
If you are having trouble identifying staff members, here's a current list of all of them (their usernames are in parenthesis):
Rule 16) Always be respectful.
- Other people may think differently than you, or have different opinions. If you disagree with someone, that isn't permission to attack them. If the other person is being disrespectful, report them and move on.
Rule 17) Do not create multiple accounts.
- Anyone caught making multiple accounts in order to spam the forum will immediately be banned, no questions asked.
Rule 18) Do not post any revealing personal information.
- If you do give personal information, keep it vague (for example, telling people your whole name is a no no. But telling them your first name is fine). Revealing information can be given over PMs at your own discretion.
Rule 19) Do not advertise your referral code in your posts or threads.
- If you want people to use your code, put it in your signature or status. Also, do not make threads specifically to advertise your code (it will be deleted, and you will be warned).
Rule 20) Do not direct any threads at IGG.
- Keep in mind that the forum staff ARE NOT AFFILIATED WITH IGG IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER. We do not work at IGG, we do not have contact with IGG's dev team, we do not have in game powers. I will personally punch you through your monitor or phone if you ask me to recover your in game account.
Rule 21) Do not create selling or buying thread
-As you may know recently we closed selling and buying area on forum due to massive scams of people, so now any kind of attempt of selling or buying account here on forum will be punishable by ban.
And that's about it. I take pride in the fact the the DH community is one of the least toxic gaming communities out there. Let's all try our best to keep it that way.
If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to post them here (or you can PM a staff member about it, if it's personal. All staff members agree to an oath of confidentiality, and any one who breaks said oath will be dealt with).
Have a great day!
