I think it would work out horribly to be honest. There's only a small handful of games where this has worked well. The problem with this game is that there is too small a variety of cards(Heroes especially), but mainly there will be WAY too large a supply of cards which would make a lot of cards dirt cheap. It would kill the longevity of the game.

What if you add limitations?
1) Can only trade level 0 creatures 2) Can only trade once per week/biweekly/month per account (whichever would work best to limit abuse) 3) Cost gems to make a trade (gems go to the "house") 4) Cards must be of equal star level 5) Cannot trade with a player that is +/- 5 levels different than yourself
I'm not saying it would be perfect, but adding some limitations to prevent even P2P players from getting too many good cards too fast.
Just throwing ideas to see what sticks. Anyone have thoughts? Feel free to call me a moron.

You would HAVE to implement a restriction like cards of equal star level or else everyone with multiple accounts will trade all 5*s to a single account.

Yea that was one of the more obvious ones I listed. I wanted to emphasize limited the number of trades you could make in a time period, and limiting who you can trade with (only players around the same level of experience like plus or minus 5 levels). Those 2 things would prevent players from creating a new account, get their first 5 star card, and trade it to their main account, rinse and repeat.

I want trading ONLY if they can balance it and prevent account-boosting. If they can't do that, then I want no trading system at all.

(just to make an example) if ur p2w then why trade cards when u can use them for melding purposes

Somar is right.
On the other hand, shard trading would be interesting.

I'd agree except not everyone is going to try uneven trades.
What would you people offer for a Gorgon?

I would trade pit dragon + terror dragon for the gorgon, I would even trade the 2 of them for any other 5* except the seal ones. Theyre not bad, but i see them more as good 4* rather than a 5*, there are even some 4* that are more usefull than those 2

Ha, I built a pool of creatures worth hundreds of dollars for nothing via trades in Pox Nora. (And this was in a time where spending a thousand dollars was unheard of) You just need to get a decent ranking on cards and always ask for cards slightly better than the one you are selling. The good news is this will all be done for you. Because player shops will open and experienced shop owners will value all the creatures. Usually with the shop owner getting a 10-20% cut. So if a creature is valued at 1000 you can trade it in for 900 store credit. Then buy back creatures with that 900 credits. This was done with a simple thread with an inventory/price list on the first post. Then folks would post the trade offer and a link to the trade. The shop owner would then complete the trade. So if say the liege was valued at 1000 and a gorgon at 900, you can trade the liege for a gorgon straight up with one of the shops. The stores usually put a limit on how much stock of a creature they would take in. Some stores giving even less credit if that creature is above a certain threshold.
Anyways, I'd use these shops to determine which creatures were in demand (ones with little or no inventory) and use the shop's value to request a slightly higher valued in demand creature for the in demand creature I'm offering. Since you couldn't get these creatures from the shop, people will overpay. I get a high valued creature in return then flip that one for even higher. sooner or later then adding to my list the possibility of multiple creatures of lesser value. That way I could start 2 trades and work them up. I ended up with at least one copy of every card from the faction I was going after. Even the exotic/limited edition ones.
