Hi I finally have enough copies of Nidhogg to attempt a successful meld. What should it be, for explorer maps/trials? Revive? Recycle? I appreciate any help. Thanks!

It strongly depends on which deck you are going to run... If you need a tank --> FA If you need a support --> revive / mass heal etc.
Further (and better xD) advices to follow

i run a mixed deck, with a focus on neander/mortii. mostly disposal creatures with a couple of heavy hitters (FA phantom liege, BB8 graboid) thrown in. 3 recycle/revive creatures.
i don't need a tank. i have plenty. i'm just debating whether to meld my sole revive on nidhogg or wait for mimir's tree/fafnir/spirit siren.

Since my main attackers are 2 taurus and a Capricorn, I melded safeguard and have been dumping all my totem and safeguard Essences into the card.
So far it has totem11 and safeguard9 for a total life bump of 910. Since I can't afford to meld Taurus's, this is a good way to try and keep their life high.

The main problem with Nidhogg is delay. It's double edged sword. I have revive and rec2 ones. They used to be good... Now with immunity on bit higher level which might happen sooner than you think Nidhogg in your team becomes your enemy (Especially in explorer maps and immunity runes everywhere)... So imho use them while you can and later you can transfer revive to better creature like Mimir... You won't regreat as it will become thrash. Since there are not much meld options worth the effort for him other then revive and recycle cease the day.
As you said even Spirit Siren is better later on.
Edit: For gauntlet (no runes) he remains great but not elswhere... The only place I use mines atm...

Are you serious I dunno about Alchemist deck specifically but overall the best free (sort of) revive you can get. Me personally need 2 more to complete one. I do have ore but I think it's better to spend that on hero. I doubt it'll become thrash anytime with his skillset.

Nidhogg is the go-to creature to meld Revive on among Coupon creatures. Unless I'm forgetting any Coupon creatures, he's the best choice for Revive.Recycle works as well. Mass Heal is also a good choice. That said, Mythril Drone is not that expensive ore-wise and it's vastly superior to Niddhogg as a Revive (or even Recycle) carrier. Frost Armor is a meh choice, in my opinion since then he'll just be a rock sitting around doing almost nothing. Delay can only do so much, especially with more and more Immunity the higher up the maps you go. When melding, you want to create creatures that'll do more than just sit around take up a card slot, especially for something as expensive as 21 deck cost melded.
You meld creatures that are high damagers with skills that either make them inflict more damage or survive longer (i.e. Immunity). You meld Revive onto creatures that naturally have high survivability already. You meld Frost Armor on things that will offer great options if they can survive longer. Nidhogg just has Delay naturally. That's it. Hardly something you want to hitch your wagon to with an FA meld.
