Melding:
You have a creature u want to meld something on.
Lets say Sentry Angel.
First step. U need to evolve ur Sentry Angel. For this u need to go to the chamber to gain enough Material.
Since Sentry Angel is a 4*Creature, u will need:
75 Materials of human chamber 1 50 of human chamber 2 40 of human chamber 3 30 of human chamber 4
Second step.
Now u go to ur level 10 Senty Angel and evolve him for 640000 credits. U will get a 4th skill, which is random and mostly useless. U will now lvl ur Sentry Angel to lvl 15.
Third Step.
Now u are ready to meld, if u have 5 copies of Sentry Angel. On meld day, on non meld day u will need 8 for guaranteed success without using gems.
This is the max u need, a success may can happen with first try.
Every try gives 30% progress on a meld day with coins. With gems 45%. On non meld day 15% coins/22,5% gems.
U now have to choose a master from were u want to take a skill to put it on Sentry Angel.
Lets say u take Spider Queen for her Immunity 9.
Now u do the meld. U will lose one copy of Sentry Angel with each try. Once u are up to 100% the next try will succeed.
Once a try succeed u will lose the copy of Spider Queen, but not in failed attempts, like with the duplicates of Sentry Angel.
Hope that helps.

Some skills have a higher% chance and some lower ex. Immunity 15%, pyre 10%, weakness 20%, this can affect the number of copies you need. Also, you dont have to lvl to 15 to try a meld. I wouldnt lvl it until the meld is successful, in case you want to put your resources elsewhere.

True,
forgot that there are some skills with lower or higher percentages.
I didnt mention the possibilty to meld an evolved lvl 10 crit on purpose.
I think its not good if new players do that. Since in the beginning coins are short and enhancement is a problem.
The first melds are most of the time things like recycle meld. So very important for him.
I didnt want him to sit there with an lvl 10 rec 1 HB.☺

ah so basically you need multiple of the same to sacrifice in order to melt and some others from which to take the skills you want to meld. Thanks for the info that clears it up, it will take a very long time for me to meld 5* then ... or never Thanks again and HF !

You can instead meld its recycle skill on some other creatures like horned beast. So in the end you will be able to have a recycle1 horned beast.

And one important thing on melding Double check if you have chosen the correct skill to meld. If you leave it by default it will be in first skill. Many ppl have got incinerate 5 fanfir or mimir due to carelessness be sure to choose revive or recycle so

Because i tend to do it as u said on my main and my more advanced alts. Just because there is no need for the crits before the meld is done. And i am always too lazy to buy all the essences. So i do it when meld is done. But like said , on new accs its a different story. And it happend often on my alts, because i just take over that pattern.😂

Most players prefer to meld in meld days, most of the times it's better. But sometimes if you only want to meld 1 creature and have to farm his shards, for instance, meld recycler on Horned Beast, i prefer to meld one by one. Why? Because instead of wasting energy farming a lot of H.B. and then meld in a meld day you could have success in your first try and thus saving a lot of energy not farming another (s) creature. Plus you start using the melded creature much sooner.

On any 5star and on some 4stars I suggest only meld on meld day. For rare 5star I suggest doing a single gem meld as it saves a copy of it goes all the way to 100% expertise. Standard meld expertise per attempt on revive is 15% Without meld day this could take up to 8 copies to complete. On meld day it can take up to 5 only using coins. On meld day you can successfully meld in 4 copies (at the least) with a single gem attempt. There's no reason to do more than 1 gem attempt as it will still take 4 copies min to meld.

On meld day you can successfully meld in 4 copies (at the least) with a single gem attempt. Or it can take only one copy if you have luck. It's true sometimes it take me to 100% and lost a lot of copies. But it's also true that many melds i have done it only took 1 or 2 attempts, and save me a lot of time. P.S.- I'm talking about my personal experience, lv. 80 f2p. My best luck was to meld recycler on H.B. in 1 attempt (saving a lot of energy and time have to farm more), and with 5 Terror Dragon i made 2 TD with frost armor (didn't get anymore TR since then). Imagine if i had to wait for more copies or for meld days...

Honestly? I only melded 14 creatures until now. And to be honest i only had 3 meld to go to 100%. Must have been tremendous luck. I through that going all the way to 100% was unlucky. Thank's for the insight ZanderX10.
Edit: Or could you be tremendous unfortunate. Can the higher level players confirm?

I do 11 accs and have done a few hundred of melds.
I think its somewhere between yours and Zanders experience.
Maybe 50% of my melds i had to go full 100%.
Very rare on first try. More often 2nd or 3rd try.

For context, I started in 2014 (base game) I knew the struggle of having to meld 3 stars for main deck. I have seen meta for both pvp and guild maps change multiple times.
