Last GW update with rewards cap is pretty upsetting.
Lets summarize:
Arena - pretty much after you managed to get #1 - no more strive to be on top Gauntlet - great update - finally you can have a chance to earn something Tournament - great update - now you can have a chance to earn something even more amazing Guild maps - grind Guild wars - grind with capped (guild) and meh (individual rewards)
Please explain me something: why do I need to continue to play this game? Why do I need to grind in guild maps for credits, raids for glory points, other places for shards???
Before, I did that to make a perfect deck that can counter any deck out there. To beat the crap out of known behemots when attacking and when defending if I can of course. To have a chance of beating them. And to be REWARDED for it.
All this grind in arena/gauntlet/maps/tournament was to be competitive at least in GW and to be rewarded.
Now with last GW cap, that was taken out. I understand that previous GW rewards were exploited. That had to be fixed. But not by capping. Game is no more REWARDING. Just a grind.

See, this is what I didn't understand. People complained because the Guild War rewards were good, and now, this is the result of that complaining, the rewards now suck.

People complained because those people were not even near top 100 in guild wars. And they complained because they thought that they are ENTITLED to free stuff. Because they are unrecognized geniuses or something and Mikhal stole their rewards.
Have they worked for it? No. Did they pay for it? No.
I am not complaining. Just pissed. My 12-hour marathon yesterday got me rewards that are equal of 5 hits in raids. Will I do this again? Of course not.

I get you man, It was really annoying, I'm pissed off as well. It was not worth the time invested. People never stopped to think that the reason Mikhal and the others could do so well was because they spent a lot of their own money getting all the best cards in the game. No, it was all about how they thought the stronger guilds get so much more than them so they complained.

I agree with OP. My complaints about gw was and only was, the exploits. 1 man team dominating a "team" event. And all the glitches, when I have cards getting disposed and instakilled by unevolved 3*s I was annoyed.
I am actually thankful I was stuck at the doctors most of yesterday and couldn't put any real time in.

They didnt nerf it because someone complained. Igg couldnt give 2 shits about user complaints. They nerfed it because they realized that they gave their prime money spenders thousands of dollars worth of free gems. The old system rewarded the p2w (totally ok with btw) but it did it in such a way that they would have an even more amazing advantage every 3 days. In 1 day he made more gems than probably the average 1000 players would buy. Thats not good business. I agree they went a little too far on the nerfing. Cant goof off at work for 4 hours for just 130-180 gems.

The old system also encouraged people to make solo man guilds which shouldn't be the purpose of GW. I agree that rewards are now quite bad for top players, but Im sure IGG will adjust this in future patches. The funny thing is how people, who are sitting on top of 500k guild credits, are complaining the most because they can't capitalize this exploit anymore. Im not talking about people in this thread or forum just saying. Lets just give this feature some time and it surely will be adjusted to be worthwhile.

I've said it before, the all guild wars system needs to be changed, the idea is good on papper but making this current system work will be pretty much impossible.
Honestly, the idea they used for tournaments, with some minor changes, would make a more exciting guild wars system than the current one.
Something where players would get limited attempts and were the ranking would reward guilds from top to bottom accordingly, but that was fought day after day and not on a time gap.
12 hours of continuous play it's just a joke, specially with many players being from different time zones it makes no sence at all.
Makes you wonder if they are only developing a game to be played by people in their own time zone and to hell with everyone else.
Edit:
Some poeple keep blaming Mikhall (and others) for stuff but he actually did us all a favour, by showing IGG that they have to start changing their approach to the game, it's not like he needs all those rewards to be on top anyway.
But reducing the prizes so that everyone in top 50 guilds will get pretty much the same thing is definitly not the way also.
The rewards should be all guild based where the players would benefict indirectly from them, and then it would be a team effort and not a one man show.
As an example: if the rewards instead of being awarded to individuals come in the form of a multiplier for creature shards and mall credits after completing maps in the guild, or limiting contribution at first, and an higher guild rank would allow for a higher cap to unlock more maps at once, and so on.
Doesn't have to be exactly like this, but something in this lines would work better.

Compared to few months ago, the gauntlet rewards got a huge nerf. Used to be like 75% orso you get 5* hero shards, now its more like 20-30%.
Oh well IGG always prioritize profit first, as most companies. Although the you gotta give them some credits for being abit "soft", I did not expect them to add a nice feature called tournament with so many freebies you get from it.

Agree but indirectly - I never finished gauntlet before the fix.
Still, gauntlet is approachable now for any player, F2w and P2W. While rewards are nerfed, at least players have a chance to draw 5* or better from there.

I think they will change the game massively with the new rune system. I feel its going to be something very strong that requires tons of gems.
