I got my 5th and 6th copirs today, enough for a Meld.
I'm thinking either Frost Armor to make him unkillable physically or Life Sap so he sticks around longer.
Anyone else want to chime in?

FA. Centaur Chief is basically only good against Neander and they don't have much in the way of lockdown or magic damage. Only 5* creatures like Nidhogg, Alladin (or whatever his name is) and Tidal Siren. You're mainly looking to smash Boars and Graboids.

This, taking 5 or less damage and the fact that he oneshots 99% of Neanders makes it the choice for sure. He is a Neander specialist and since they mainly do lots of physical damage, this is a great choice. I've been happy with mine!

I think it depends. If you are running a full faen dec k with buffs I would meld life sap. If you are gonna run him in a non faen deck I would go with frost armor.

I go frost armor either way. It just scales way too good into late game.

I'm thinking Frost Armor. His HP will slowly drop, making his Warlust start to proc every turn.

Centaur Chief was one of my first experiments in evolving when I was looking to beat one of the Neader decks a good 6 months back. I got Battleblow 1 as my 4th skill. Before I got enough to get that skill however, I scored my luckiest break ever and got a Grand Mage on an event booster event and that COMPLETELY changed my game and my strategies. Now it's 6 months later and I'm looking to start building some specialty decks and I came back to my Centaur Chief as a Neander specialist killer. I now have 8 copies sitting at lvl 0. Reviewing posts I see that Battleblow is a popular meld suggestion (for good reason). Although Battleblow 1 is a weak buff (50% chance to increase ATK by 20%) I'm thinking I should evolve one of my other Chiefs for melding purposes since I'll still have 7 apprentices if I do that. That will give me a (weak) Battleblow Chief to play with and I can meld FA onto the new one (assuming I don't get an awesome 4th skill on that one).
Thoughts?

I was kind of joking about battleblow. The huge numbers are awesome but a lot of times it's overkill. I like your plan though. Might as well keep the little BB1 guy around if you can.
It's kind of funny looking back and thinking sac graboids was what I was picturing for late game back then.

I would get FA 100% of the time. I have 3 FA Chiefs now and in combination with any sort of healing they are incredibly strong. As said above, melding Battleblow is just overkill, unless you really really want to oneshot that buffed up Venom Tyrant. With normal setup lvl 15 Centaur Chief will deal around 4000 damage. This will be a bit too low to truly oneshot tanky creatures in higher maps since they usually get buffed before you can even play your own cards. However, you can easily kill Boars and non-tanky stuff like Kumiho-Kitsune, Taurus and pretty much every single non-FA 4-star. From my experience, the survivability given by FA is much better than that small (yes small because you will probably only add around 400 damage before they die) damage boost on the tanky creatures. This aside, it is still awesome to oneshot a buffed up Venom Tyrant, so if that is what you want you should definitely go for Battleblow

It's kind of funny looking back and thinking sac graboids was what I was picturing for late game back then. I dont think a BB Chief would be that much of a joke. Combined with some recycle you get a one off killer that pops back into your deck. Used as a scalpel to eliminate problem cards I think it could be very useful, although limited and not really a go to card for sure. FA is a much better choice, but hey, with all my copies, it's easily attainable and I can play with the BB to see how it's gameplay is. *lol* about the late game ideas. =) I started playing DH because it was a download to obtain gems for another game (which I have long since forgotten). I had always preferred non strategy games/timekiller games... and then I started DH. Now I'm sucked in big time. Late game... I don't know what to think! All I know is that as a completely f2p guy (and not changing) I'll never have the decks that the top players have. I've topped out at about 80 on Arena and 3500 on Tourney. BUT, I'm finally starting to get enough copies of cards to get some great melds. I've got Recycle on Swordmaster and Horned beast, Disopsal on Royal Dragon and hopefully in the next month a Sac 8 Grabboid, 2-3 FA Oracles, and then I don't know. That's really why I'm reviewing some of my early melds like the Chief. I want to see what I can do to build something nice to run for the next 3-6 months while I farm for a 3rd recycle and 5* Hero.

I have a sneak 8 centaur chief. He can be fun, but mostly just sits around being lazy and doing no fighting whatsoever. Cause he's either locked down, one shotted, or (most likely) never made it off the bench and into the fight in the 1st place!

It's kind of funny looking back and thinking sac graboids was what I was picturing for late game back then. Funny that, sac Graboid is still a very legitimate end game card. I went through the same phase of dropping it (even remelded his sac to Twins, but then remelded a new one for my 3rd sacrifice). Great card in today's meta still. Battleblow could make for an interesting guild map card. Would absolutely tear s*** up in a Zora deck. It definitely is overkill, though. FA remains my meld of choice for Centaur, nothing else really comes close.

I was looking at something to meld Dispel onto and I thought the Centaur Chief might be good, as a triple boost (like Battleblow or Dispel) would be a great specialty creature for guild maps. I think the lack of synergy with Miasma sucks though, not many 5* Neanders with magic skills. Abaddon, Yeti, Spirit Siren...

I've two Centaur Chiefs with Frost Armor and they helped me very much. Take note that Dodge 8+ could be a good one too, because a lot of people will going to use Kumiho Revive and Kitsune Frost Blade. Frost Armor doesn't counter Kitsunes Danse Macabre and Frost Blade but Dodge does.

They are quite useful in some of the harder guild maps too- the top level has a kitsune you have no choice to kill (no tyrant to eat her) and she will bleed your team to death no matter how good it is, so a battleblow centaur cheif would be pretty useful to put massive damage onto her fast and make sure she goes down instead of slowing up progress.

Frost armour from a sentry angel will make him take 0 damage - very nice in tournament vs stabthrough graboids as they cannot harm you and get one shotted every time he gets an attack.
