This is one that I originally thought was a no-brainer, but now I'm 2nd guessing myself. I failed a meld during the last double event so I'm already at 30% expertise. But now I'm considering just cutting my losses. It's obviously really hard to kill and can quickly wipe out creatures without dodge or frost armor. The obvious drawback is that it kills one of my own creatures at random. There are times that I don't want to be hit with instakill from one of my own. I am now considering Recycle, Frost Blade, and maybe the usuals like frost armor or battleblow 8. What do you guys have for me?

Believe me when I say this: Sacrifice 8 on Graboid is an absolute must have(unless you somehow have a very stacked deck). Yes, he sacrifices a creature, but a beefed up Graboid is pretty much worth 3 creatures. I really don't care who he sacrifices as long as it's not a recycler. A lot of explore and trials maps become much easier to beat with a Sac 8 Graboid and he does very well in pvp because he one shots most teams not running melded 4 stars.

One of my goals for the next month is to farm Graboids to do this Meld.
This would be an absolute must-have against Human decks and would force opponents to play cards they normally wouldn't.

for sweeping blow the usual suspects apply. lifesap keeps him going. stoneskin keeps him from getting instakilled/retreated. battleblow deals insane damage to 3 critters. all of those are good but anything damage reliant is susceptible to lockdown. sacrifice would give him more of a chance to deal more damage. i have been thinking about putting immunity on mine. hes pretty beefy hp wise so he can take a little physical.

although could you imagine a high level stabthrough. against a human deck the fight would be over in 3 rounds.

Sneak 8 if your deck allows for it to be effective This would work fantastic for a deck concept I have going. I'd share, but if I'm right then it would counter Wight decks and that's some VERY USEFUL information considering 90+% of high level players use/abuse Wight.

Just evolved and lvled one up to 15, got flurry 1 for 4th skill. Been a couple of months since the last post in this thread so just wondering if sac 8 is still the way to go? Thanks.

Yes. Graboid is an ultra-versatile creature with a bunch of great meld options, but overall sac8 is still the best meld.
A frosty Graboid with good atk+ runes is incredibly strong, BB8 is like a poor man's sac8, but still incredibly useful as it doesn't sac a creature. Frost blade is really nice, but better on something with more innate durability like a Swordmaster. Sneak8 works well if you have a reliable source of flaming in your deck. Stabthrough is an ungodly meld for hero killing decks.
Life sap and immunity are dependent on your deck. The melds above all work in any deck (sac8 is particularly potent in Mortii based decks) but these two rely on being in a Neander deck specifically. Without the huge HP buffs, life sap simply won't keep him alive through lockdown, and immunity similarly won't sustain it for long. But if you can get enough HP buffs to get up to 4k in a Neander deck- these melds are very viable too.
Thankfully Graboid isn't that hard to farm once you get him opened up, 4 dungeons to explore means he goes up pretty fast. Nothing wrong with doing all these melds for versatility if you can.
The most important thing to remember with sac8, is you're very limited in how many copies you can obtain. Most people will get 2, maybe 3 maximum chances- so make sure you use them well. Twins and Anathema are also incredibly good sac8 choices, and there are others- remember that as good as Graboid is, FA is really popular and stops it in its tracks. Anything that hits through FA and has stoneskin is a devastating choice for sac8.

I somehow managed to get 4 Sweeping blow creatures in my deck and I was wondering the same thing about the Graboid and Sacrifice 8. And in the end I put Battleblow 8 on him and it is cute. Now I'm farming another Graboid for the Sacrifice 8 meld. The other thing I was thinking about is a Graboid with a Stabtrough skill for a hero killing deck... Decisions, decisions, decisions...

Definitely worth getting a sac 8 graboid since it's a matchup nightmare for heavy disposal/insta/human decks.
