If you are unfortunate like me and got stuck in a guest account while switching accounts or got logged off and can't get back in, this might be the only possible way to resolve the issue for you as a user, as of today. This doesn't fix the issue at its core, but might help few of you get your accounts back.
Bug conditions:
Upon logging into the game, instead of your account you see that you are in a guest account, level 1, zero progress, and your IGG ID is a new one (god knows why the game got you logged off).
When you try to use Switch Account button in the game settings, you are able to select your Google account, but when you press the green button with it, you get an error message that reads “Login failed. Error code=3. Error message=Unknown” or “Login failed. Error code=3. Error message=UNREGISTERED_ON_API_CONSOLE”
I’ve tried clearing game’s cache and data, reinstalling the game, logging myself out of Google on the entire device but this didn’t help.
What has worked for me:
In the game go to Altar, Draw Creatures. In the left upper corner tap “Live Chat”, there - “Submit Ticket”, select category “Login Problem” “Login Error”, provide e-mail you’ve used to login with, a screenshot of an error, and describe your problem in “Details” section. It usually takes 10 to 30 minutes for support to respond to each message. It is important to be brief but clear in this feature, replies seem to be pre-set, and it took me 4 tries to get through with my problem.
Sadly I didn’t take screenshots before the guest account i made tickets from was gone, so here’s a paraphrased dialogue between me and tech support in the “Live Chat”:
Details: “I cant login into my account using e-mail youremailhere@gmail.com, something is wrong with the game’s API”.
Support: “We are sorry, we are aware, our team is working hard on this”.
Me: (after pressing “Continue query”): “My issue hasn’t been resolved in over a month”.
Support: “/Polite text/. If you are using a new device, install the game and log into your account. If you are still unable to access your account we can transfer your old account to your new device. To avoid confusion please provide the following information: –Old IGGID : , – New IGGID : in your response. /Polite text/”.
Me: –Old IGGID : “account i can’t log into”, – New IGGID : “guest account i’m stuck in”.
Support: “/Polite text/ The account transfer will result in the loss of all progress on the new account, for us to proceed please provide the following: –Confirmation that you understand the risks and agree that the new account data will be lost /Polite text/”.
Me: “I confirm that I understand the risks and agree that the new account data will be lost”.
Suppport: “/Polite text/ Your ticket is now being submitted, it will take 1-3 days to get done. /Polite text/”.
In my case it took them exactly 1 day after I submitted a ticket. Upon login I got an error code 8, but after a restart it finally let me into my account with my old IGG ID.
Hopefully they aren't too short-staffed to help some of you the same way.
P.S. If you don't remember your old IGG ID, you can still sign in via Google on IGG's website and it will be shown there.
